Colleen Suojanen has been living in the Tampa Bay area for nearly 30 years. She, along with husband Erik, started “Plumbers” of Suojanen Enterprises, Inc. in 1990. Colleen began working in the hospitality industry upon her graduation from high school. Her talents were immediately recognized; and she became a manager for a local restaurant. In the early stages of starting Suojanen Enterprises, Colleen also worked as a banquet manager for the Sheraton Hotel in New Port Richey, Florida.
In 1992, as Plumbers of Suojanen Enterprises started to grow, Colleen left her position with the Sheraton, as it became too much to raise a family and take care of the administrative side of the business. After leaving the Sheraton, Colleen turned a tremendous amount of focus on building the company, while taking care of her most important responsibility-raising a family.
Over the years, Colleen has been able to balance her personal responsibilities with the responsibilities of a growing business at a very successful level. She has a beautiful family and a very successful company, which was built from a couple trucks and a cell phone into a multi-million dollar enterprise generating more than $150 million in sales over the past 17 years.
With Colleen’s experience in running the Plumbers of Suojanen Enterprises showroom, her product knowledge, and her technical expertise, it is only natural that she start a plumbing company geared toward women. Colleen is recognized as one of the most knowledgeable people in the local plumbing industry… and she’s a woman building a plumbing company for women.
