Dan Harri is a native of Copper City, Michigan and a 1980 graduate of Calumet High School.
Dan began his education by serving a three-year apprenticeship with the American Culinary Federation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He then went on to attend the Culinary Institute of America in New York and California.
Dan’s career has taken him through the finest hotels, clubs, and resorts in North America. He has worked for Hilton, Hyatt, Sandals Resorts, and Don Shula's Restaurant, where he was corporate executive chef for 18 years. Dan has also done extensive work on a special project basis for numerous organizations and has been featured on CNN, Food Network, and numerous local TV & radio stations.
Throughout his career, Chef Harri has received numerous awards including the Châine des Rôtisseurs Metal of Excellence, Best in Show from the Caribbean Culinary Federation, The S.A.G.E award, and the ultra prestigious Five Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.
Dan has recently teamed up with lifelong friend Erik Suojanen of Suojanen Enterprises in Odessa, Florida to create a concept plumbing service company in Trinity, where the pair plans to launch “The Pampering Plumber” in mid 2007.
Dan has a passion for quality and creativity as well as staying active. To his credit he has competed in 12 marathons, including the Boston Marathon, hundreds of road races, adventure races, and other athletic competitions.
Dan currently resides in Florida during football season and northern Michigan during the summer months with his wife, Mabel.
