I had a thought the other day when I was cleaning my kitchen counters.  I started looking closely at the silicon between the backsplash and the top.  Some of the silicon was  peeling out; same thing where the sink mounts to the bottom of the granite.  If I don’t take care of this soon, I will have some damage to some pretty expensive cabinets.  Some simple maintenance will certainly be a lot cheaper.  The caulking in my daughter’s bathroom between the tub and the tile is missing as well, which caused some tiles to pop.  If I don’t take care of this soon, I will have some major tile repairs and possible mold!  Looking around my house, I find several other maintenance issues.  Loose door casing, base board and crown mold touch-ups, window caulking, and pressure washing to name a few items.  The list grows as I survey the house.

Fortunately, I’m a plumber and I have all the basic home repair tools and a pretty good knowledge of how to take care of the problems.
